Our rich history dates back to more than 35 years. Since then, our sign out front has been advertising with noble simplicity: Tanyacsárda (”Farm Tavern”). Also known as ”The best restaurant of the countryside” the Öreg ”Old” Tanyacsárda enhances its reputation by using recipes that have been perfected and polished for decades. We consistently provide traditional cuisine and loyally uphold an appreciation of Hungarian culture and customs. Tanyacsárda first began as a little timber house and has since expanded with the addition of new wings. We welcome hundreds of our honoured guests and cater for them with excellent tastes of the traditional Hungarian cuisine. As a devoted representative of the trade, we diligently pursue our quest for the modernization of the foods while maintaining the tastes of the delicate spices and the savoury Hungarian character that comes from our different cooking and baking methods. Our special dishes are prepared by master chefs who have garnered numerous national and international acknowledgements. We welcome our guests with a series of programmes for the whole year. We revive the traditions of the art of cooking related to festivals and holidays. Our delicious nostalgic dishes are accompanied by many special events.

In 1992, we created the Új ”New” Tanyacsárda to fully realize the potential of our natural surroundings, and to satisfy the demand of our annually increasing number of guests. It is here where we complement our equestrian centre with traditional horse-breeding. We have two open summer terraces, an indoor restaurant that consists of two halls, and an outdoor garden restaurant. We are prepared to host more than a thousand guests at any time. Meticulous preparation goes into planning every detail behind the scenes to ensure our guests an experience of a lifetime.

Visitors from Hungary and abroad may choose from a wide array of activities that will evoke the romantic spirit of the Great Hungarian Plain. We present our horse-shows from April through the end of October every day starting at 12:00. You will witness with amazement the attraction of the Puszta Ötös. This ”five-in-hand of the Hungarian steppe” is the true display of the skillfulness of the horse-herders. You will also experience a ride across the sand dunes of the Great Hungarian Plain in a horse-drawn carriage. You may arrive via a classic, nostalgic steam engine train. Upon arrival, you will continue to enjoy the Hungarian hospitality through our many activities for the remainder of the day. You can glance into the everyday life of a genuine Hungarian peasant farm, or you may venture toward more traditional activities and displays. Folklore, Gypsy shows and peasant wedding feasts all contribute to a truly recreational experience. The rich and harmonious flavours of the Hungarian cuisine are accompanied by live Gypsy music. You can be part of an authentic Hungarian goulash party or grill party in our outdoor garden restaurant. Short playful culinary lessons are given by our chefs where you will learn how to prepare lunch or dinner courses. You can also assist in the preparation and skewering of ox, pork or chicken for roasting over an open fire. We promise to experience an adventurous tournament in the puszta-olympic games within one of our teambuilding and outdoor programme offers. We have a few recommendations for managers and chief executives: spend an organized event-filled Sunday with your family; hold partner company meetings or take part in our latest attraction; view trick-riding demonstrations, or experience a wild western pub party in New Tanyacsárda. We host events for families and friends in our picturesque environment for any occasion.
